Andrea Flores-Torphy

 

Andrea began her teaching career in dance and fitness throughout Los Angeles. Andrea found Pilates 20 years ago when a debilitating illness left her barely able to walk after over 17 years of being a fit and accomplished dancer. She was able to strengthen and create balance in her body that made her stronger than ever before. From her rehab with Pilates, she became certified and continued as a dancer and fitness instructor with emphasis on rehabilitation to help others achieve the same results. Andrea is one of the most sought out instructors by Physical Therapists and studios in the Pilates field for being able to read the body in front of her and having the knowledge to be versatile and dynamic, so the client continues to evolve.

 Andrea began her yoga practice 25 years ago at the Iyengar Institute in Los Angeles. She has completed her 500 HR YTT through YogaWorks. Her Vinyasa classes are alignment based to keep students safe while they become stronger in mind and body. Along with flow classes, she has developed a Yoga for Thyroid workshops to help individuals that live with hormone imbalances maintain an asana practice based on how they feel daily, she also is completing her Trauma Informed Yoga certification to be able to better assist her students as they go through any difficulties in their lives.
