Yvonne Kelly

Born and raised in Coventry, England, I moved to sunny California when I was 19. After over 30 years of living in the Golden State, I have just recently relocated to Tennessee!
As a young child I was diagnosed with a hip disease and unable to walk. I spent many years in and out of hospital, and had a steady relationship with a pair of crutches! At that young age of living in a body with restricted movement & limitations, I promised myself, that as soon as I got the “all clear” from the doctors, I would move any way I could. So in my teenage years I became an avid swimmer, I discovered that I loved to hike, and my new best friends were a set of weights! To be able to finally move was so incredibly liberating!!
I went on to have a hip replacement, and now enjoy the greatest freedom of all, which is to live in a body free of dis-ease. First hand, I understand about limitations, and I encourage modifying movements if a movement doesn’t feel right for you. We want to feel the best we can, for as long as we can, so challenge is good, pain is not! Don’t worry, I got you!! Our body’s are all different. Where ever we are in our fitness journey, what ever shape we are in, it’s the perfect place to start!
My fitness journey teaching others didn’t begin until my early 40’s! I began with my group fitness certification through ACE, and went on to add a personal training certification through NASM & certification with TRX. I also took Sculptworks & Barworks training with YogaWorks, as well as a 200 hour & 300 hour Yoga teaching training with Jennifer Elliott & Dawn Stillo, and a 50 hour Yin yoga training with David Kim. Now, at the ripe old age of 50+ (I’m going to leave it right there!), I absolutely love teaching fitness and love helping others to discover their joy in fitness too!
Apart from fitness, my other passions in life are photography & travel. My absolute favorite thing of all is to combine all of my passions into one happy place, and to travel the globe on yoga retreats! I cannot wait to see where the next adventure will take me! I want to live to see it all and take everything that life has to offer!
